Liveaboard and research expedition from Komodo National Park to the Gili Islands and return in July-August 2018. Only a few spots left!

Indo Ocean Project partnering with Pirates Bay Cruises is proud to announce The Komodo Expedition! This action packed research trip takes our resident projects on the road across islands and seas from Labuan Bajo, through Komodo National Park, and across the northern coast of Sumbawa and Lombok on a 10 day sailing expedition.

The program is jammed packed with exciting world class diving and land based activities, because it’s not ALL about the science. Between research dives, waterfall hikes, Komodo dragon encounters, and workshops, you will be taking part in data collection, entry, and analysis right from the decks of the liveabaord vessel Lambo. You will be working and living alongside experienced marine biologists, dive instructors, and boat captains. Every one of the dives are dedicated to baited remote underwater video (BRUV), survey diving, and photographic identification of sharks and rays, making every dive count! With over 25 scheduled dives in 10 days, this is a jammed packed program.

2 Trips Scheduled for 2018:

  1. Komodo – Gili Islands: July 8th – July 19th 2018 (3 spots left)
  2. Gili Islands – Komodo: July 22nd – August 2nd 2018 (0 spots left)
