Position Overview · Kesempatan bergabung bersama kami

As Project Manager at the Raja Ampat Project location, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating various aspects of marine conservation and research projects. You will be responsible for managing project schedules, resources, and teams to ensure the successful implementation of Indo Ocean Project’s initiatives. You will also be the lead divemaster instructor, certifying dozens of divemasters over the year. This role requires a combination of leadership skills, project management expertise, and a passion for marine conservation.

Key responsibilities · Tanggung Jawab Utama
  1. Project planning and execution: managing divemaster internship schedule under the guidance of the Program Director. Managing project resources and unique curriculum/standards.
  2. Lead divemaster instructor: Serve as the lead divemaster instructor, overseeing all aspects of the organisation’s diving programs. Conduct training sessions ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental awareness. Monitor and assess diving operations to identify opportunities for improvement and maintain compliance with industry standards.
  3. Team Leadership: supervise and lead a diverse team of scientists, researchers, dive professionals, and interns. Foster a collaborative and positive working environment to maximize team productivity and ensure the enjoyment of participants.
  4. Resource Management: Manage project budget, ensuring effective utilization of resources.
  5. Stakeholder and Partner Engagement: Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, partnering dive center and other stakeholders. Represent Indo Ocean Project’s goals and missions.
  6. Data Analysis and Reporting: Oversee data collection processes and ensure the accuracy and integrity of research findings. Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for internal and external use. Collaborate with the scientific department to develop and deliver on monthly research goals. 
Qualifications · Kualifikasi
  • Minimum BSc in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Conservation or related field. Master’s degree preferred
  • PADI OWSI and SSI Divemaster Instructor rating in active teaching status
  • Proven experience in project management, especially in the context of marine conservation or environmental projects
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of Raja Amapt’s marine ecosystems and local cultures is advantageous
  • Ability to work in challenging and remote field conditions
  • First Aid and CPR certification required
What we Offer

  • 1-Year renewable contract
  • 9,000,000 IDR/month during 3 months probation followed by 10,000,000 IDR/month (take home amount after taxes)
  • Private accommodation (basic with fan in staff area)
  • 3 meals per day served family style (predominantly local Indonesian cuisine)
  • After 6 month’s contract, your DAN insurance and PADI/SSI fees are paid, with consecutive years paid by Indo Ocean
  • Indonesian Employee Insurance and Taxes paid in full by Indo Ocean
  • One-way domestic flight to port of entry at the completion of the contract (including up to 30kg of baggage allowance)
  • 1 year working KITAS (VISA) for Indonesia**

**Indonesian working VISA’s take time and money to process. We require a 50% deposit on your VISA fees (16,000,000 IDR) to ensure your contract completion. In the event you cancel your contract before your agreed end date a KITAS fine will be deducted for each month incompleted.

**Additional fees to obtain VISA is the responsibility of the employee (including travel and administration fees from consulates/immigration offices)

As the program coordinator and dive instructor, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and facilitating our marine research and conservation programs while also serving as a dive instructor, assisting the project manager in daily diving initiatives and training dive professionals. This dual-role demands a candidate with strong organisation and interpersonal skills and a passion for marine conservation and dive instruction.

Key responsibilities · Tanggung Jawab Utama
  1. Program Coordination: Coordinate and execute marine conservation and community outreach programs in collaboration with the Project manager and fellow program coordinator. Develop and maintain program schedules, ensuring alignment with project curriculum, goals, and timelines. Liaise with the local community, interns, and stakeholders to enhance program engagement and success.
  2. Dive instruction: Conduct training sessions for interns, emphasizing safety, conservation principles, and proper diving techniques. Led and supervise underwater activities including divemaster training and research, ensuring adherence to established safety protocols and environmental guidelines. Manage dive logistics, including equipment preparation and site planning. Assist the Project Manager in the instruction of dive masters and Indo Ocean Project’s research and ecology courses.
  3. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to integrate dive activities seamlessly into broader marine research and conservation initiatives. Collaborate with the scientific department to develop and deliver on monthly research goals.
  4. Data Collection and Reporting: Assisted in the collection of data during dive activities, contributing to research and conservation efforts. Prepare reports on diving operations, intern progress, and other relevant metrics.
Qualifications · Kualifikasi
  • Certified Dive Instructor with PADI OR SSI in active teaching status
  • Minimum BSc in Marine Biology or related field OR relevant field experience
  • Previous experience in program or event coordination, preferably in the context of marine conservation or environmental projects
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Passion for marine research and environmental sustainability
  • Ability to work in remote field conditions and adapt to challenging environments
  • Knowledge of the marine ecosystem of diving in Raja Ampat is a plus
  • First Aid and CPR certification required
