PENIDA Project
The project headquarters is located on the island of Nusa Penida in the Penida Marine Park. Penida is a diver, surfer, and yogi paradise only a 30-minute boat ride from southeast Bali and ideally located only 1 hour away from the Denpasar International Airport. It is part of the Klungkung Regency district which includes the three islands of Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Penida.
Reeflex Divers
Indo Ocean Project’s base on Nusa Penida is at Reeflex Divers (www.reeflexdivers.com), located in Crystal Bay, just a few minutes drive from the world famous dive site. Reeflex Divers was founded in 2015 by owners Roman Maral, Harold Legal and Dodi and the shop focuses on delivering a high-end, personalised dive service while placing environmental protection at the heart of the dive experience, making them a PERFECT match for Indo Ocean Project.
The emphasis on environmental consciousness can be seen throughout the shop, the main attraction being the brand new natural swimming pool which we just ADORE teaching in – using plant filtration instead of chemicals, the result is better conditions for the equipment, hair and skin of anyone who takes a swim, and of course the environment as well.
With three large fan-cooled classrooms, a grey water system that catches and recycles rain water, recycling points throughout the shop and a mangrove nursery this really is a conservationists dream location! Not only that but all equipment and compressors are expertly maintained and the staff are a joy! Our interns enjoy being here so much they often sign up for additional fun dives and courses on days off.
