The project is located on the main beach, Bira Pantai Pasir Putih, which translates to white sand beach, and it would not have a more appropriate name! This beautiful beach stretching over 2 km along Sulawesi’s southern peninsular is home to the Bira Project headquarters. The intern accommodation (with kitchen) and research station is located right at Blue Planet Dive Resort. Including 2 4 bed dorms, research/classroom and dive center.
This remote beachside location is located on the cliffs with an amazing view of the Banda Sea. With several other accommodation and restaurants popping up along this stretch of beach it is an ideal place to relax, learn, and enjoy. Walks on the beach, exploring the local cuisine, or take the paddle boards out for a sunset cruise on your down times. So there is plenty to do when you are not completing your conservation divemaster or research internship position.
Motorbike is the easiest and cheapest mode of transportation and available for rent from Blue Planet Dive Resort. It will give you the freedom to explore the sights and zip into town where there are local restaurants (warungs) and mini marts.
