Time to start building towards sustainability!
Indo Ocean Project adopts the Eco Ocean Bricks!
What is an Ecobrick?
Ecobricks are recycled plastic bottles packed solid with soft plastics and non-biodegradable waste to make a re-useable building block. At Indo Ocean Project we focus on waste taken from beach and underwater clean ups, preventing that plastic from entering our oceans. You don’t need to be an engineer or have any fancy machines, you just need a few dedicated people not afraid to get their hands a little dirty. For the oceans, for mother earth.
Why Use Ecobricks
Research has found that Ecobricks are a great solution for recycling our own non-biological waste. This is especially true for places like Indonesia where the national recycling program is still developing and is not in effect in most of the rural islands. Teaching this technique to the community raises ecological consciousness while sequestering C02 transmissions from sustainable to regenerative. And of course you can save on building material costs for new projects! The list of benefits goes on and on!
What can you build with Ecobricks?
Anything and everything! Around the world Ecobricks are being used in so many innovative buildings. From furniture, gardens, to structural buildings! Your imagination is the limit!
Here at Indo Ocean Project our first item to be built is a recycling bin made out of 100% recycled materials!
Special thanks to Ocean Warrior and IOP Ambassador, Tammy Pappin for bringing the ecobrick to Indo Ocean Project!
